The $38 Billion Machine Nobody Really Knows

71% of Americans oppose a data center near them — more than oppose a local nuclear plant. They're fighting furiously. Just not about the right things.

What Each Audience Should Do Next

👷 Worker: Target commissioning engineer — 45–65% more than technician in every state. No degree required. Best real-wage markets: TX, AZ, GA, OH.
📈 Investor: Model server lifespan, not headline capex. 5→3 yr life adds $3.5B/yr to a single 1 GW facility. Oracle already >3.5x net leverage; $400B+ in new hyperscaler debt projected.
🌊 Environmentalist: Fight for WUE & cooling-method disclosure at permitting — two-thirds of data centers since 2022 are in water-stressed regions. That's the leverage point, not the capex headline.
